Hi! I'm Stacy.

In 1994 I met the man of my dreams in Houston at a country and western dance hall—which is such a Texas thing!  We had big plans and big dreams—and God laughed at our smallness.  We have a biological son, an adopted son, an adopted daughter, and have had seven foster children come and go through our home so far.  We were a Coast Guard family for 22 years so we moved every two to four years and have had 10 different addresses and one more on the horizon, so far.  We are currently on the path to plant a church called Texas Grand Chapel in the Conroe, Texas area. We have definitely been enjoying the journey God has placed us on.
There are several things that are important to me that I try to incorporate into my daily life.  First, the most important thing is God!  I strive to start each day inviting Him in and asking for His guidance and direction.  The second priority is my family and some friends that we consider family.  I couldn’t make it a day without each of them in my life.  Third, is “the least of these,” the ones God told us to take care of.  My heart simply beats for these people and the mission to help them, love them, and care for them.  This is a calling I take very seriously everyday.  I love to serve at church and strive to get plugged in as quickly as possible each time we move.  I have recently found writing to be a very important part of my life.  I have always liked to express myself with the written word, but I have found it to be very therapeutic and I feel God is calling me to write for Him.
My family is a force to be reckoned with.  We serve big, love hard, and are very, very loud.  We love to entertain and be surrounded by family and friends as often as possible.  My children are messy, loud, loving, demanding, giving, and downright crazy!  The age gape in-between my children was not planned by us, but God has His reasons. There is a little over 4 years difference between my first and second, and a little over 9 years difference between my second and third. So basically, my husband and I will never be empty nesters, LOL! My husband is a strong Godly leader who is supportive, loving, a bit of a perfectionist (even if he won’t admit it), affectionate, and just plain awesome.  He is truly the man I dreamed of when I was a little girl and I am still in awe that I get to share everyday with him.
I love to take care of others, but I am admittedly not that great at taking care of myself.  I am still a work in progress.  I am a sucker for those in need and feel the most fulfilled when I am following God with my whole heart.  I am a true southern woman so I love, love, love to feed people any chance I get.  I love to shop, and I don’t have to buy stuff to enjoy it.  I have a passion for shoes and I have apparently passed this on to my sassy girl.  The best day for me would involve a white sandy beach, my family, a good book (or two), a cold drink, warm sun, laughter, and a whole lot of love.  I am far from perfect or even great, but that doesn’t stop me from trying.  I aim to live intentionally so as not to unintentionally miss the greatness God has planned for me.
I have had my fair share of hurts, struggles, and hard times.  I have also had my fair share of triumphs, successes, and good times.  I am an unashamed over sharer so brace yourself!  I try to remember that life is a journey and to enjoy each step along the way.  And like all journeys, life is better with people.  I love the saying, “It takes a village,” and I believe it to be true.  I look forward to adding each of you to my village!
